The Ethiopian Business and Disability Network (EBDN), a flagship initiative of the Ethiopian Center for Disability and Development (ECDD), is strengthening engagement with businesses, organizations and other stakeholders to advance inclusive employment and accessible workplaces for persons with disabilities.
EBDN serves as a platform for employers and partners to exchange information, build connections and promote practical approaches to disability inclusion in the workplace. It also works to expand employment opportunities for youth with disabilities and job seekers while encouraging businesses to embrace inclusive recruitment and employment practices.
ECDD Executive Director Dr. Getahun Semeon emphasized the importance of disability inclusion in Ethiopia’s labour market and called for stronger commitment from employers and partners to create equal employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.
“Persons with disabilities have skills, talents and valuable contributions to make in the workplace. Employers and partners are encouraged to recognize this potential, recruit and hire qualified persons with disabilities, and create accessible workplaces where everyone can contribute and thrive.”

Operating under ECDD, EBDN seeks to strengthen connections between employers and persons with disabilities, raise awareness of inclusive employment and workplace accessibility, and expand networking and partnership opportunities with businesses and other stakeholders.
ECDD calls on employers, business organizations and development partners to take concrete action to recruit, hire and retain persons with disabilities and work together to build more inclusive workplaces and a labour market where everyone has an equal opportunity to participate and succeed.
