
Ethiopian Center for Disability and Development (ECDD), in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO), has been actively implementing the ENHANCE II project since January 2026.
As part of this initiative, ECDD organized a comprehensive disability inclusion awareness-raising training for ILO PROSPECTS partners. The training is divided into two sessions: the first running from March 24–25, 2026, and the second from March 26–27, 2026
.
Core Methodology and Objectives

The program utilizes the “Bulshada Approach to Disability Inclusion and Gender Equality.” Its primary objective is to foster an inclusive environment and promote gender equality within the framework of decent work for host communities, refugees, and internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Training Delivery and Participation
- Target Reach: Under the ENHANCE II project, the goal is to train 200 stakeholders across various sectors using the Bulshada Approach.
- Current Progress: The first session commenced on March 24 and concludes today, March 25. The current two-session block aims to reach a total of 80 participants by March 27.
- Facilitation: The sessions are led by Eric Carlson from the ILO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, with technical facilitation provided by the ILO Country Office (CO) and ECDD.
- Attendance: Participants include representatives from ILO PROSPECTS, various government sectors, and Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs).
A total of 29 participants attended the training, comprising 13 females and 16 males.
Disaggregated data regarding disabilities is as follows:
- Female: Two individuals with visual impairments.
Male: Two individuals with visual impairments and one with a physical impairment.
